Today I received my truckload of coal from Penn Keystone. The guy who runs the place is named Joe. You will not find a nicer guy. He delivered as promised today. The coal was wrapped in black plastic and in much sturdier plastic bags than the ones my local dealer uses. The bags are sticked closed so I don't have to worry about metal ties rusting out. The delivery guy was awesome. I had his cell phone and he kept in communications the whole way. Before buying from Keystone - Mike, one of the members, went down there and picked up a few bags to burn in his boiler. He said the ash was low and it seemed to burn as well as anyone's rice coal. I'm extremly happy and now that it's over I think I would have dropped and crushed a lot of the coal if I had dumped it in my driveway and tried to move it with a Bobcat. So the guessing is over. Joe from Keystone is honest, delivered as promised and his coal is as good as anyone's. It'll be nice to grab a bag from the pile and not have to shovel coal into buckets.

Do you know if they only deliver by the full truckload, or can you get a half truckload? Mind if I ask how much they charge?

Good deal. I wanted to buy from them but I don't have room for a semi truck nor do I have a forklift, just a loader on the tractor. I'll wait and see how the coal burns for you guys, maybe next year I'll build an entrance for a truck to get in and weld up some forks. Their price for bagged coal delivered is the best around.

You can get any amount you want but you have to pay for the truck and it usually doesn't pay unless u take a full truck load. They have pickup too.

Yes member Mike is using G.J. boiler much different then a stoker stove alot more air going into it and it is a Auger Fed Underfed Pot Much different then a Alaska channing II stoker unit With any underfed stoker you can pretty much burn any type of Anthracite coal good or bad there is a whole lot of air going threw the Pot & threw the coal you can't compare the
two The only way you are going to know if the coal is any good is to burn it in your stoker stove and see how it burns
and one or two bags are not going to tell you much about the consistent in the Qaulity of the coal A 1/2 ton of it will Good luck with you burning of the coal this up coming season

Yes but it will give traderfjp an idea if the coal is horrid or not. If the stuff I bought looked good, and the stuff two others bought looked good stands to reason that you have a good shot of getting some decent coal from them.

What kind of coal is it? How much does he charge? where is he from and what is his contact number? Does it just get dropped in a pile or is it on pallets? thanks a lot

I'm not the only one locally that burnt the stuff and came to that conclusion. A relative of mine has been burning it in a efm for the last month and has said the same thing, looks good, burns good, and not overly high in ash.

Theres no arguing the reputation they had for the past 20 years thats for sure. I find it hard to believe that they are buying rice from others when the continuous miner makes mostly pea and smaller but.......? But at any rate there coal seems pretty good!

I rented a Bobcat with a forklift attachment. The Bobcat was a little underpowered so I had to remove several bags from each pallet. Of course it was one of the hottest days of the year. The coal was hard and shiny with no debri. I was told it's all deep mined and several people have given good reviews on how the coal burns.

I don't know what bulk is but bags are 6.00 a piece. I wonder how much they bag a year there, they looked busy especially on the bagged end.
