McCain says Obama trip to Iraq may be soon

DETROIT (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain commented on Friday on the unannounced timing of a high-security trip by Barack Obama to Iraq, saying he believed his Democratic rival was going this weekend.




Sounds like he is trying to to assist our enemies! (That's what his campaign would be screaming if the roles were reversed!)

(seriously, why would he even speculate on Obama's trip? Is he working for the Obama campaign by announcing schedules?....N0! Does he wish Obama well......No!....Perhaps he should announce exactly where & when Obama will be landing in Iraq?)

Just having my first cup of coffee but thought things needed to be livened up a bit here!

Obama will be there with all three anchors from the 3 networks, media bias? McCain got no such attention when he went.

Can you believe?? Each network's biggest dogs too. Forget McCain, Bush as President never even got that kind of coverage. What a joke. I'll bet the perky one Katie will get her first taste of "change" when she has to change her bloomer after wetting herself with excitement

Why would it make any difference if the time and location of Obama's arrival was announced.. ??? They won't kill their own.. they need Obama in the White House to have a Muslim at the head of our government.. just what they need, so why kill him.. maybe they will have a ticker-tape parade for him??

OH,, that wouldn't be ticker-tape,, no,... probably chaff stolen from the airforce's stores.

Anywho....It's about damn time he visits the troops. If he is that set at being the Commander-in-Chief he should have doubled the amount of trips that McCain has already taken over there.

And...if I was McCain I would have Obama's entire schedule all over the internet...that's a no brainer...the easiest way to the White House is make sure your opponents are taken out of the race!! I'm surprised Bill and Hillary hasn't thought of that. I think I'll write them.

You know Mike, maybe that's exactly what McCain was intending. (The 2000 version of John McCain would never have done such a thing.,....... The 2008 version........Well he did it, didn't he?)

I wonder how amusing he'd find it if he roles were reversed & his political opponent was willing to jeopardize McCain's safety?? ...Not very amusing I don' think & McCain's campaign would be accusing Obama of treason, wouldn't they! (putting out press statements jeopardizing the life of a fellow Presidential candidate???)

McCain hasn't learned a whole hell of allot in all those trips, has he?.......He needs Sen Lieberman to whisper in his ear or he's totally befuddled as to who the hell we're even fighting over there & where they are trained.

Exaggeration and dribble but it is cool. If that McCain mental slip up is the best the Democrats have to offer to tear down McCain's military and international experience, I say the Democrats have their work cut out for them.

Question to the Democrats...How familiar are y'all with OPSEC and how far over the line did McCain actually go by saying "An Obama trip to Iraq may be soon?" Then ask yourselves..."How far over the line did the Obama camp go by letting it leak that he may be visiting the region?" Hmmm, should we be upset that McCain mentions an Obama trip or was it political play by the Obama camp to leak it to McCain, let McCain mention it and then say "HEY!!! That evil Republican is trying to get us killed by letting the bad guys over there know that we are coming!!!!" Obama still hasn't won my vote and I don't think he has much of a chance anymore to persuade me. (Don't worry though, my vote won't hurt him any being that I assume NO republican stands a chance in my State).

To show Obama's real experience with the military go back a view the youtube creation that spc posted in the "Will the Real B. Obama Please Step Forward" thread. Listen to what the Democrats have to offer the United States for our next Commander in Chief. It is quite obvious that B. Obama believes that Iraq is as safe as France and Great Britain which some here personally do not believe. You don't even have to watch the whole thing just pay attention to what he says at the 6min53sec part when he answers about leaving troops in Iraq. March of this year, he says all we need is a military presence like we have in France and Great Britain. All we need is a small contingent to protect our embassy there just like we have in France and Great Britain. My questions to my highly possible next Commander in Chief B. Obama is..."Do you have any clue on how small that embassy security force actually is?" and "How many times have you been to Great Britain or France to visit not only the Ambassadors but the Embassy's Military Security Forces?" and then I would as him..."Mr. Obama, please spell the next two items...1) Military and 2) Commander-in-Chief "

I hold the military close to my heart...Obama is not an answer to keeping a strong military.

As far as who you'll vote for in November Mike, we all have to make our own decision & I admit that Obama is a bit of an unknown quantity. On the other hand, McCain is a very well know quantity & if you like where 8 years of GW Bush has left this country, our economy, gas & heating oil prices, our over-stretched military & the world, then you'll just love four more years of Bush policies under McCain.

I'm getting really tired of the constant sound bite of "McCain will just continue 4 more years of Bush's policies' ... do you think he is just running on autopilot?? I think McCain will surprise you if he manages to get in inspite of all the Media crap in the news... I don't think he's without his own mind or ideas..

I have to laugh at some of the Obama gaffs.. he flip flops more than a fresh caught trout in the bottom of the boat.

It's just sad that Obama or Hillary is the best that the Dems could come up with.. McCain has a serious chance of winning, inspite of the lousy economy, the war and oil.. all being laid at Bush's and the Repub's feet.. Hence the constant democratic mantra 'four more years of Bush's policies'.. yeah right..

Lets see, if China and India's steel, oil, lumber and other natural resouce consumption wasn't increasing at what 2-300% a year [?] what would the price of oil, and the value of the dollar be. I found some conspiracy pills to take,, I think they were made in china, and marketed through india... they make be believe that the chinese and indians have it out for us, and our economy,, and are in cahoots with each other..

And you base that on what Greg....Hope & Faith? (sorry....I stopped believing in Santa & the Tooth Fairy years ago ) Our number one problem right now (by far) is the economy.......a subject that McCain admits is not his strong suit. Tired of the "sound bite" or not, it happens to be true. McCain has voted with Bush over 90% of the time & represents no change to the Bush policies...either foreign or domestic. (*I'm sure the Yankees are tired of the "sound bite" that the Red Sox are world champs.........but the inconvenient fact is that ....it's true!) This country badly needs a real change & Obama represents that change allot more than McCain. (My first choice was Joe Biden, but I know if Obama wins, he will surround himself with all new, fresh blood & thinking in his Cabinet..McCain, on the other hand will keep most of the old, tired faces that have gotten us into this mess in the first place.)
Seems to me you were one of those who blames Carter for all the ills of his Presidential time in office ..(.ie Failed Hostage Rescue in Iran, Inflation, high gas prices) & yet now none of the current problems are GW Bush's fault?? It's all China & India steel & gas consumption.....BS!

As much as the McCain campaign would like to keep our eyes focused on Iran & other (highly overblown) foreign threats, we American people realize that our most pressing threats are domestic.......Gas & Oil prices, lowering home values, health care, lack of good jobs....etc. Problems the Republican Party has no desire to fix!........& why should they want to change anything??.....They are doing just fine, & getting richer every day, thank you very much!! (hell.......this country builds the best aircraft in the world, & yet this administration was even going to buy/Outsource our new Air Force tanker fleet from Europe!!......Why???)
The American people want & need a real change & American Flag lapel pins alone just won't cut it this time Greg!.......McCain is just more of the same "Stay The Course" mentality that has our "Ship of State" headed over Niagara Falls, & you & the rest of the country really know it.
