Mixing Coal in a KA-6

PostBy: 26Weeks On: Sun Jul 20, 2008 7:39 pm

My coal comes in from superior next week. I have a ka6 on order some people burn rice, some burn buck, and some mix. I thought that I would mix 70 percent rice and 30 percent buck. If anyone has thoughts on this its not to late for me to change. Thanks Brian

The harman sf250 is a heating machine. The only problem and I cant beleive that harman have not fixed it or did they? The ash pan is not wide enough. You will shovel as much ash from around the sides of the ash pan as it holds. I always wanted to weld in angle steel to the sides of the stove so more ash would enter pan. Also once a year take off the front top cover and clean air chamber(The nut and cover). Did you get a blower if not get the biggest two speed blower you can find. For me I am going dust free putting up a building to house a k6 boiler. Order about 4-5 tons nut coal and heat it up. Brian
