Thanks Coal berner. I'll be getting in touch with Alaska. I was shocked when they had told me the price. My jaw just about hit the floor. The insides are fairly rusty, the outside is a bit more rusted than it appeared in the pic. I checked the bottom because it looked as if it had been sitting in water at times, it was still solid.

The stove had been on Craigslist for a month. No price was listed, just said make offer. I think that is a big turn off for people. I figured what the heck, I emailed them and asked what would be the rock bottom price they would accept. I'm sure they were looking for more but after being listed for a month they probably just wanted it gone. :D

I think I will try to find someone to sandblast the stove body inside and out for a reasonable price. If not them it will need a lot of elbow grease. LOL. But it will be well worth it.

Use a 4.5 " Grinder with a wire wheel that rust will come right off save your money for coal Use Hi temp paint for the inside & outside 1200F or 2000F auto parts store Hi temp header paint works good Take the motor off and clean that out
two One weekend and you will be ready to fire it up make sure when you first burn it you make a small fire in it until the paint cures or you will have lots of smoke in the house if you have room outside burn it in outside Good luck and
congrads on burning coal this winter

Thanks coal berner. I planned on firing it up outside. I don't need the curing paint smell in the house. I'm usually in enough trouble. I don't need to add that to my list. :D I'm going to have to wait for a dry weekend to de-rust the unit and paint it. I don't have an area to do it inside.
