New member here. Seems used Alaska Stoker Stoves are popular tonight.
My intention as of 3 days ago was to research and purchase a new stoker stove/furnace for this winter. Reading the many online forums regarding wood/corn pellet and coal stoves has convinced me coal is the way to go. While it appears no new units are to be easily had until late winter/ early spring I do have the opportunity to purchase a used Alaska Stoker Kodiak Stoker II stove which would fit my current heating needs.
Specs:
Hopper: 100lb
BTU's: 5,000 to 85,000
Height: 34"
Width: 25"
Depth: 32.5"
Weight: 430 lbs.
Capacity: Up to 2500 sq. ft.
Fuel Type: Rice Coal
Vent: Chimney or Power Vent

Appears to be in good conditon based on the photos I have seen. What would be a fair price and what concerns should I have buying a used stove.

Thanks for any imput.

(Looking forward to making my oil furnace scrap metal)

All my comments on this thread apply to your stove as well:
Kodiak Stoker- Pro's and Con's

a fair price is up to $1500 or so if it is in very good, ready to use condition.
