keystoker insert

well, with getting no feedback on using a keystoker insert as a freestanding i went to look at it. i could see no reason not to give it a try, so i bought it. paid 600 for it. it is just like new. i hooked it up yesterday and low and behold my house is warm as toast. it is really nice to look at the fire burning also. i set it on a 16x16 chimney block which i plan on painting black to match the stove. after heating with the old potbelly and wearing my arm down shaking it down this is really nice. shakes down fast with little dust. maybe winter wont be so bad after all. scott

I used to sell woodstoves and sold several inserts to be used as freestanding stoves. The main difference was the lack of legs to stand on.

It sounds like you solved the problem of the missing legs, and got a great deal on the stove as well.
