The House yesterday unanimously approved a long-term plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Massachusetts, reaching a compromise with Senate leaders after months of lobbying by environmental groups.

Emissions would be cut 10 to 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 and by 80 percent in 2050. Civil penalties of up to $25,000 per day would be assessed for emissions violations.

Cape how would that apply to us? And wouldn't they need the EPA testing on residential coal burning stoves before they could go about fining us?

Ian Bowles, the secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, would come up with a plan to achieve the 2020 limit by creating new regulations for electricity generation, fuel supplies, heating and cooling of buildings and vehicle emissions.
The secretary would also have to establish an emissions registry and reporting system to monitor emissions by 2014.

Just another layer of government that has to be fed with our tax dollars. They probably will not get down to individual home heating units but may make a carbon tax/fee/permit based on how clean your fuel of choice is.

Wow they are behind. The thing to worry about now is global COOLING.

Yes, I am a proud Denier. But I cannot be burned at the stake because that would cause carbon emissions.
