I'm new to coal with an Anthratube 260-M scheduled for delivery in October and looking to get 20 ton of pea coal on hand as soon as possible. We're in the Scranton area and would like to skip the two hour trip southwest to coal country. I'm hesitant about Agel; prefer not to buy strip-mined.

Does anyone have any experience burning Casey-Kassa coal? They're in the Pittston area and are selling at $140/ton picked-up as of today. What is their source? How does it burn? How is the dirt / rock / ash content? Thanks in advance!!!

If your hesitant about buying strip mined coal you DON'T want Casey Kassa. There main source of fresh coal is one of the land fills up Scranton way. Whenevr the open up a new section of the landfill they expose a vein of coal which gets strip mined and sent to Casey Kassa. They do have to have more than that as a source but I wouldn't even be able to guess where it's coming from. They did have a strip up in Archbald but I am not sure if it's active anymore. There ash content varies but it's never low. If I had to choose between the two I'd go with Agel(hudson) before Casey Kassa.
