Absolutely agreed. The question is who does the average voter believe is pumping out "hot air and empty promises."
I think it's Sen. McCain, who has been a fixture in Washington DC for over 20 years, is tied to Bush's policies, represents the "old politics" & has done nothing to help us become energy independent in all his years as a Senator, but now "suddenly" sees the light... just b4 the election!
Further, I suggest that anyone who doesn't actually listen Obama's energy speech (available for free at http://www.c-span.org/) has no basis to claim they disagree with it.
( and no....a 3 minute slanted recap of it on Fox News doesn't count!)

I lost all respect when MCcain made remarks about Chelsea Clinton. He said, "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
because her father is Janet Reno." What kind of man makes a comment like that! I've also seen the man on talk shows and he's weird. I don't want him as president. Obama is intelligent - will he lead us into a re-newed world powerhouse? I don't know but I have only two choices and it has to be him. He could be worse than Bush (hard to believe) or he could go down in history as being the best president ever. It's a gamble for sure.

Couldn't agree with you more! Obama is fairly new to the national scene & is the first serious black candidate for President that we have ever had. Therefore, he obviously is less "comfortable" for many voters to vote for, which is exactly what the McCain camp is banking on & the only reason why McCain is even still in the race in these horrible economic times. I think GW Bush has safely won the opposite "Worst President of all times" title, so why not try for the "Best" next time?
Obama is seen by many as more of a gamble than McCain, & it is true.....McCain is a sure thing!....More GW Bush. (I have challenged anyone here to show any major policy differences, or even administration personnel differences for that matter, between GW Bush's Presidency & a projected McCain Presidency & no one has come up with any.....Not one!....So much for the McCain Isn't Bush mantra........McCain IS Bush......& we've all seen how well that has worked out for the US)
