I'm gathering parts to install my boiler and I'm thinking of replacing my old expansion tank. It is the old type without a bladder. I think it is 15 or 16 gallons. 12" diameter and 30" long. I've not found on the web if a smaller one with a bladder can used or the same size must be used. I've found charts based on quantity of water in the system. Seems a difficult, time consuming thing to figure.
Is there some conversion table? or must the same size be used?
Also since the current boiler feed valve hasn't worked years I thought I might buy the Amtrol Fill-trol. Anyone have any comments good or bad about it?
