New Harman sf-260 on order

PostBy: pwriley On: Wed Aug 13, 2008 10:05 pm

I have been lurking here and on the wood gasification group at hearth for about a month.

My motive was to learn how I should go to enhance my solid fuel heating. I expect to receive a sf260 the first of Oct.

Welcome to the forum. When did your order the 260? I've been told that only orders placed before June 2008 have any chance of being filled before spring.

That's for sure!

My neighbor ordered a Harman wood/coal boiler back in March, and he won't get it in the forseeable future. At least not until well beyond February. His got sold over to a store with higher volume, and then they froze production until "the end of the quarter that finalized the sale".

Meanwhile, my own Harman 2600 works great - when I use the manual override switch on the plenum to operate the blower, 'cause the wiring wasn't set up right for the wood/coal thermostat. Go figure! They knew how to set up the oil burner on this multi-fuel, that works perfectly automatic. Now they have to come back and rewire the thermostat-blower connection for the firebox.

It's a phenomenal system; I can't get over the efficiency of the firebox and its controls. ...just hope it can get installed correctly before the real cold comes!
