Do they only produce these occasionally? I am getting thirsty and impatient!

No they are produced regularly, I guess not distributed as widely. Amber Lager is my favorite, followed by Black & Tan.

They have Yuengling in NY and VA.

Rheingold beer will be making a comeback. It will be backed by far more marketing ability, and will eventually be available in all the US. Go get em Rheingold   :drunk:

I'm not fond of Yuengling lager, which is all I have found of their make in rural central NY. I would like to try the porter however. All brew deserves a fair assessment!

Our local porter is Benchwarmer brewed by the Cooperstown Brewing Co. In my opinion it is heads and tails over any other. I have only had it on draught. It is extremely smooth, flavorful, no after taste and quite potent.

It's a microbrew. Chances are high you won't find it except in specialty beer shops and ale houses

WHAT!!!! Mike, Dude, what's up with that?!!!  Are you a commie or something?

To me, nothing sounds better than when you sit down in a bar or restaurant and you ask "What's on tap?" and their first response is "Lager..."

You know you're in Pennsylvania when ....you ask for a Lager and they bring you a Yuengling.

Schaefer...Schaefer IS THE one beer to have when you’re having more than one… I remember they had a brewery just west
of Allentown (Fogelsville area), they were bought out I believe by Stroh's, now I believe that brewery belongs to Sam Adam's....of the three, I'd pay 3 times the amount and take a Sammy anyday.

In 2005, Drinks Americas of Wilton Ct., whose iconic brands include Trump Vodka and Dr. Dre Cognac, purchased Rheingold Brewing.[10]Drinks Americas has reformulated the Rheingold product for follow through distribution throughout the US. The date of the release is currently unknown.

I shall keep my eyes open while shopping... ...however I guess "reformulated" means "not the way it used to be".

Schaefer and that jingle I certainly remember from my childhood. Though dad drank Carling Black Label and Genesee beer, Schaefer was very big in the metropolitan area and the upstate cities. It had a great sports ad campaign. I never have tasted it. Schlitz was also popular. That I enjoyed on rare ocasions as a teenager when offered by the neighbor I worked for.

If it makes you feel better, I'll give the Yuengling another try with an open mind! My father-in-law likes it and has a fridge full of it, but then again, he's getting up in years and confused my daugher's root beer for his bottle of brew!. Sorry to tell you but, he stocks the fridge with about six brands and Yuengling always gets passed over for other brands at the family reunion.

I am right along with you, Bugsy, with an affinity for Samuel Adams. That's one great brew. Other favorites of mine are: Tsing Tao (a chinese beer), Kirin (japanese), Pilsner Urquell (Czech), Guinness Stout, most Saranac brews but especially Black & Tan, Genesee Bock Beer and cream ale, Corona Extra, most german beers but particularly Spaten, Molson Ale (not the golden ale), Labatts 50 Ale, and Grolsch (dutch).

I can say with certainty that I hate certain ones too: Genesee "red eye" (rochester), Stegmaier, Coors light (or any light beer), Coors, and Michelob. The list would be endless if it included all the local rot gut like Old Style (chicago), Utica Club (utica) , and Iron City (pittsburgh).

But, I must confess, when there is only one choice of brew, I'll probably drink it.

Bottoms up!
