We have a gas stove in our basement that we use as a backup. We had one upstairs in our main kitchen. There are a lot of positives to cooking with gas but the problem we had was cleanup. My wife was constantly cleaning the grates, Even if we boiled water the grates would somehow get dirty. After about 3 months she made me run a 220 line and install a ceramic flat. That sucker still gets dirty but is easier to clean.
