I have an Infocus projector downstairs & that;'s the only way to go for a movie-like experience! Do you install many projectors?

52", 60", 70" and Infocus Projectors????? Are y'all serious or is this just joking around?

I have a 27" tube in the living room and a 21" tube in an unfinished basement.

I can't believe people will actually whine and complain about how bad we have it here in the USA while they are sitting and watching CNN on their LCDs, Plasmas, Home Theaters, Rear Projection, etc.

How bad is it out here? Not too bad. (With exception to my piece of crap Traiblazer with it's F'd up fan clutch and ABS motor...buy American....USA1...never again...)

Many of those people who bought big sets are in debt. A friend of mine just bought a house from a nice couple who almost went backrupt fixing up the house with the best of everything. For example: Instead of buying GE or similar quality applicances they went out and bought all Boch appliances. He told me how much the oven was and I could have bought 2-3 ovens. Now they lost the house and are living back at their parents house.

But you forget....Many of the people on this forum can buy things with the money we don't spend heating our homes! :D

I was taught when I was a kid and I have taught my daughters the same...if you don't need it don't buy it. If you want it, it's always cheaper if you pay cash. Credit cards for emergencies only.

I'm no way near being rich $$$$ wise. But I consider myself extremely wealthy other ways.

frugal: adjective: characterized by or reflecting economy in the use of resources
Got married in 1991, E-5 in the Navy, wife stayed home and raised our 2 daughters. She decided in 2002 to go back to work part time (minimum wage). I was an E-7 by then. I always laughed at my peers that said they "would never be able to survive if their wives didn't work full time." Of course they had nicer toys than I, with bigger bills... ;)

Adapt and over come. As a consumer, Live smart or go bankrupt (unless you are actually looking forward to moving back in with your parents...personally....I'd rather sit here and lick razor blades than to do that).

I agree with you bugsy. I was taught if you can't pay cash for it you don't need it. There are a few exceptions like a house but otherwise I try to stick by that. I'm also very frugal, my wife calls it 'cheap bast*** hey its just symantics. :)

My wife became frugal when she married me.... she's frugal when I need to buy something.

When I go get supplies she jokingly says "You're spending like a Drunkin' Sailor". My response is always "Not yet, wait a few Yuenglings...I mean minutes"

well we can get a 103"plasma, its only like 70k. we dont sell to much over 52" we carry a 60" pioneer,i dont live in the richest area so we dont get to many big setups, sometimes we do though, did a guys house with 3 60" pioneers and a 110" 1080p projector in his movie room, had recliners for 15 people, we peiced together a wicked klpisch audio system for him, it was rediculous. he ended up spending over 70k on the whole house setup, but it was like a 2 million $ house

People in America don't know how good we have it. Try spending a month in the Philippines. Not at a five star hotel, but with an average family In town. Yes in one of those nipa huts like on Gilligans' island. not because they look good but because if you can even find a job, you will only earn about $4.00 a day. but theres a catch, when you're 25 yrs. old you will most likely be fired because your too old. there is no welfare or unemployment. you are just screwed. No running water, polluted air, polluted water, and no F.D.A. Whats' a tv, no running water, no air conditioning. flies and mosquitos on steroids the constant smell of something burning. I stopped complaining about this country on my first trip there in 1991. God bless America!!! Go ahead try it, I triple dog dare you.
