Carter and the Failed Recue Mission

As a person, and a Humanitarian, I have the utmost respect for Jimmy Carter.. But as the Military leader of our country, and the guy who let things like wage freezes without price freezes go into effect. and the Hostage fiasco, I have zero respect.

We needed a strong response to the Hostage taking,, and what we got was ... well just read about it.. I believe that the world would be a different place, and the USA would not have slipped so far in world power if we'd had a strong military response within about 90 days of the hostage taking. Waiting for so long showed nothing but weakness.. and our enemies look for weaknesses, and exploit them.. and they have been ever since.

My problem with Carter is his globetrotting our dirty laundry and even our not so dirty laundry that he thinks is dirty laundry. How many dictators has he had his picture taken with? His humanitarian side does not make up for this in my book.

To me I just can`t believe all this blame for Carter for everything bad that has ever happened. All these truely great men that have followed him & all having done truely great things all seem to have one thing in common and that being to blame Jimmy for everything that comes along thats unpopular. My only hope is that sooner or later some-one is going to take some blame for what they do and learn and move on. In my opion the operation to save those guy`s failed because they were so worried about word being leaked out about the mission that they didn`t even inform the helicopter crewchiefs about it so the proper filters weren`t installed for the sand resulting in engine damage & poor performance. And I may be wrong (nothing new) but I thought it was Nixon with the failed wage & price freeze.
Before I go , I do think it`s Jimmy`s fault that we invaded the wrong country (Iran) for the heck of it. And I`m sure he`s to blame for the loss of value of the US Dollar & the largest debt the country has ever seen. Maybe we should imprison him & water-board him to see how it was done, he`s pretty frail it shouldn`t take too much. Just my opinion.

Yup, and in the first place, turned his back on the Shah to let a "holy" man replace him. How's that working out?
