I've been selected for inclusion in the Moderator Team at phpbb.com

It's quite an honor and also quite unexpected considering my relatively low post count at phpbb.com. phpbb is of course the software that runs this forum. Installations worldwide are estimated in the millions, it's the most popular open source forum software on the planet. It runs 3 or 4 of the largest forums worldwide. phpbb itself not included in that list has the following statistics you would be familiar with from here:
Total posts 2830363 • Total topics 485584 • Total members 326105
The phpbb team is made up of about 40 people one of which is now me from across the globe most of whom reside in the U.S., Canada and Europe. My duties there will not include anything technical and rightfully so as my php programming skills can be defined as "knows enough to be dangerous", the people in charge of that are among the top programmers in the world. I'll simply be moderating.

I'm in shock and to tell you the truth I need a beer...or two...or three. :|

I'm on a 90 day probation, at the end of it they will make an evaluation at which time it will become official.... unless I screw it up. :P

That's cool Richard. I used their website as a resource when I was helping put together a site for a veteran's group. I never did get very good at HTML but I learned enough to make up four skins for them. You must be pretty smart for a coal cracker. :D

Do you get a paycheck to babysit another family? Sounds like a lot of work and possibly opportunity for a new career. Cool.

I had to agree to a NDA before they gave me the mod position, I can't discuss private information anywhere. Probably not legally enforceable but nonetheless... I can't answer that question. ;)

Well obviously they have reasons for that. BTW I took the liberty of fixing your links. :D Thanks for the contributions.
