Room thermostat connection on VF-3000

if the led lights that shows that the relay is energized.
so the tstat wire should be connected.

is the led light lit on the s350?

Take the wire from the oil gun that you jump together to get the gun to fire and connect it to the S350 NO terminals.
get the led to light on the s350 and see if the gun fires.

ok problem solved, The safety door micro switch was wired to the wrong terminal inside. The gun is fireing perfectly and shutting off when the selected temp is satisfied.

I burned coal all day Friday 8/06 set the temp for 175 degrees and had .3 draft about 1.5 inch of coal burning with the blower timer set at 4 on 5 off. The temp hardly moved in 12 hours stayed right at 175. I got up at 4 am this morning 8/06 and the weather here in eastern pay was not very good for drafting,dead still and very humid.I increased the blower plate opening because the fire was almost going out on the off time. My draft was only .1 and lower sometimes.I lost my nerve as I smelled gasses and shut her down. May have been from opening the door to much looking at the fire but anyhow I am new to this so I am takeing it slow. I did have a perfect burn for 24 hours though. Damn hurricane low pressure got my spooked with the draft.Put her back on oil.

first.......get yourself a couple oc CO2 detectors.

I remember reading instructions on a stoker stove, it said before opening the ash door to remove ashes shut off the combustion fan.
I looked in the VF3000 manual and couldn't find anything about this, it makes sense though.

Highlander has a VF3000 and he changed the controls around alittle, I'll post a link to what he said below.

Better draft conditions today with the VF-3000, lit her up at 4 AM 8/7 and found the sweet spot with draft and run time.I was away several hours and came home to a nice burn, 165 degree water and it held that all day.I got a small dribble leak at the thermostat connection that I hope seals up, if not will have to tape this joint on the weekend.I also tested the heat dump of S350 on the cooling mode and it worked just fine.I had it hooked up to my circulator and she kicked on as I dropped the set point.I am installing a dump zone but for DHW I got know where near having to have an overheat dump yet.

I am installing a vf 3000 in my garage which will run in series with my oil boiler in the cellar. I have already run and burried my feed and return plus lines for DHW. I forgot to run a wire for the thermostat. Any suggestions? Thanks

you don't need tstat wires to the house.
the word tstat is very confusing when installing the vf3000.
the wall tstat that comes with the vf3000 dosen't get used for anything (throw it in the garbage).

when you read about connecting a tstat wire, it means connect a wire from the A350 johnson controller N.O. relay to the tstat terminals on the VF3000 control/timer box.
you don't need any wire running from thr vf3000 to your oil burner.

the Vf3000 will monitor the water temp and keep it at the temp setting of the A350.

when the oil burner starts the circulator the baseboard water will flow into and out of the VF3000... the water temp will drop and the A350 tstat N.O. relay will close and turn on the stoker.

trying to get DHW out of the remote VF3000 might be a problem if there is a long pipe run to the oil burner.

Thanks alot, a friend of mine who is a furnace guy is coming tomorrow to hook it up and I'm looking for the simplest way to get this thing running ASAP. I just heard the oil boiler kick on as I type(ouch) Thanks for the tip on the DHW . I was thinking of hooking it up in a loop with a circulator and leaving my electric setup as is in case it has to pick up slack. L.S. Farm explained this setup in a previous thread and sounded pretty simple but effective.
