can anyone help? I'm trying to hook up my koker to my existing duct work. I need to find a plenum or something sufficient to put on the top of the koker so I can take several 6" pipes off of. Also am looking for some ideas for return air, I've seen some good pics in the forum. This site has been a huge help so far. I appreciate any input :!:

Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Keystoker Koker

I've attached a photo of our Koker installation. We've got a 8" x 18" heat duct out of the top of the Koker that does a 90 deg into the cold air return on the propane furnace. We've got a 8" dia duct connected to the convection motor for cold air return from the 1st floor. Both the Koker convection blower and the propane blower will run when making heat.
I hope this is helpful.

i bought 12"x20" duct end box.enough space to cut 8-8" openings.bought at binghamton hardware on eldridge st.in bing. they were very helpful with duct and pipe.nice guys! I had to remove the cover over the top/front of koker and fine tune sheetmetal with a hammer to fit on stove. also only used tabs on one side of box to secure to koker and sealed with metal tape for hvac it worked very well with only two 8" ducts from unit to furnace plenum 1200 sq ft @70* plus anytime all winter.goodluck with install! There must be an easier way though. I have a koker on order also with the 11X19 top opening...any other suggestions? Can the correct size duck to fit 11x19 be purchased?

I purchased my round 16" duct and elbows from Audubon Plumbing Supply, They had it to my door step in 2 days. Northrups in Binghamton may have a plenum.

http://www.audubonsupply.com/browse.cfm/2,155.html

I used a plenum from an old furnace; I had to cut it to size.

You can buy the sheet metal and the corner pieces and make up any size you need.
Or go to a local metal fab shop (HVAC) or equal, they can probalby bend you up something.

Most furnace installs are rather 'custom'.. that is each install is different, so the HVAC installer bends and makes or has made the ductwork to fit.. You may have to make your own plenum or find an HVAC shop to bend one up for you.

Today I purchased a 10x20 piece of duct from parsons sales in wilkes-barre. I'm going to try to bend a 1" flange as per the sales reps sugg. and got a duct end cap to top it off. When finished it should be about 30" high and there is enough space to put my 4 to 5 six in. round take offs. When I get it done I will post some pics. I have a few good ideas for a return also but my budget is spent

I had mine installed & all they did was use a 4in. angle grinder with a metal cutting blade. Top piece comes off with a couple screws, mark it & cut it , put in the transition piece with a bead of hi-temp silicone bend the tabs under, add a couple screws & install the bent duct to that. Didn`t take them long at all & did it all with one blade no problem. Don`t know if this is the best way but it was quick & easy. Hope it helps.

I built my plenum today. I used half of a 5' section of 10x20 duct cut it in half. Bent a flange on one side and used a scrap piece on the other used the screws that came with the stove to secure it. There is plenty of room to mount my 5 6" take offs here is a pic
