Deliveries to Long Island NY

Hello Coalman:
I am trying to find someone that would deliver coal to Long Island NY.
Quantities that would be delivered and cost per ton?
I could take delivery of about 5 ton's maybe more.
Please let me know if anyone would be making such deliveries ?

Sorry not at this moment and I don't know anyone that does. I do have a form you can fill out for possible future delivery:

One of the rules of this forum is that other suppliers can't be mentioned... sorry but it is a site for my business, you'll have to find another supplier elsewhere.

OK, since you don't deliver east, how about west, way out west in Michigan??

Davemich and myself could share a railcar full of coal if you can arrange it!! I have a rail siding in my north fields, and a loader and dump truck!!

Please, please send us some Anthracite!!

Please take pity on me, look at the pile of clinker, rock and ash from one week of burning Bituminous!

Most of this was above the grate and blocking the air from below. So I had to let the fire burn down and shovel it off the grates.

I've been burning about 60# of anthracite each night, and it makes almost no ash. I wish we had a bulk source for anthracite in Michigan so I could burn anthracite exclusivly.

Greg, how often do you shake your boiler? It looks like nothing would burn in that aggregate pile!!

When I have Bitum burning I only poke holes in the pile to break up the top crust. I try to leave the hot part alone, because I understand that stirring the hot coal causes or creates clinker.

There is nothing combustable in the the ash pan and most of the 'aggregate' you see is from on top of the grates. It is just poor quality coal, probably from Kentucky or West Virgina

I'm not sure what this coal was used in when it was being sold here, probably a large smelter or power plant at the auto plants in Flint. It must have had an auger system to remove the ash.

It is so close and so inexpensive that I HAD to try it. To bad it didn't work out very well.

But it looks like I'm going to go on a pilgramage to PA or MD for coal this year. I hope the price of diesel fuel drops.

If you should happen to find someone that would purchase from you and deliver to Long Island, Please let me know. I could possible handle a trailer load... Would of course need pricing first.

What is the cost per ton of coal for a local delivery ??
Tryin to see if its sworth it for me to hire a trailer and come to you?
Would you sell if I brought a trailer to you ?

Sorry I do not have pick-up, delivery only. My operation is quite small, people think it's big because of the website which everyone finds.

Perhaps it'll make me a million...

Prices vary, some deliveries it takes me 2 minutes to get to the house others it's 5 hours round trip. Lowest price I have currently is $142 per ton. That's delivered and no additional fees, there is no tax on coal.

If you call around to some of the breakers you'll find many prices. Current price for a small pickup to come in where I'm getting it is $130 per ton, they have a very good product where I purchase it though. For a trailer load I'd suggest calling around... I'd provide information but no one is sending work my way so....

Well I am not that east, I am in Medford just west of Rt 112. I will be purchasing a stove this spring from a local dealer. My cousin lives in Mattituck and hes been using a caol insert for 5 years and loves it.
