Queen of the Susquehanna and our "Guard dog". :D The one year we had her set up on top of the beer cooler. It was hilarious because every time my canoing partner would go to grab beer... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... The "Guard Dog" moniker actually stuck from the first weekend I took her out in the woods. We were walking along the road about to head into the woods and some guy from down South and his young son were walking along the other way. After stopping and talking a for a while the little kid says in slow southern drawl "Is that your guard dog?"

I guess it was one of the moments you had to be there and it was funny because of her small size, ironically it was the truth as we found out after a while. You couldn't get within 100 yards of us without her setting off to find out what was up. :D She'd could be laying down and she'd be on her feet going in the direction of whatever the sound was unheard to us. My one buddy even tried sneaking up on us on purpose and he only got within 150 feet. We'd usually know someone was coming 3 or 4 minutes before they got there.

She was special dog by all accounts, I know people say that all the time about their pets but if you knew here you'd know what I mean. Even my one buddy who absolutely hated animals didn't mind having her around.... Just to give you one example, if you had a steak and put it on the ground she wouldn't go near it unless you actually gave it to her. :D

Here's a pic of our "special needs" dog, Lucky. She has Mega-esophagus which causes her to regurgitate her food if fed normally (never makes it to her stomach). We make a milkshake of her canned food in a blender, have her sit up in her "feeding chair", and she slurps it down with minimal splashing! Without the google search function and a Mega-E users group on Yahoo we never would have figured this out and a very good dog would have been a goner. The 3 different vets we took her to were clueless about this condition and were ready to put her down. In this pic she was about 36lbs, down from 52lbs. She is now back up to 56lbs and fills out the chair without padding.

That's awesome Beemerboy!

The things we do for pets.

I have a video somewhere of my rotty pulling my kids around on a sled in the snow. I'll see if I can't find it.

Not a great picture, but you can see her. just about a 5 yr old German Shepard. My 2nd working partner. She has been a great asset, with several apprehensions and largest cash seizure of 40 grand. 8-)

My yellow lab. "Saddie" Great dog, as most labs are. She sometimes rolls on her back and goes to sleep. funny as hell to see.

I'm glad to see so many people caring for their pets so well. :D

Here's Betsy and Lulu, they are my yaks. Their grandpa was from Tibet. I bottle feed them twice a day, they are like small buffalo but very docile (most of the time) These are my female breeding stock, I hope to have a full herd in 10 years so I can start eating them.
