Pressure Relief Valves
I ran my system, oil and coal boilers in series. There is no by pass plumbing. The water flows from coal unit, to radiators, to oil unit and returns to coal unit. Do I need to have a pressure relief valve on both units? I want to put an aquastat well in the oil unit to turn on and off my recirculator pump. The pressure relief valve came off easily, the other plugs are locked solid. I'd like to use the opening for the PRV for the aquastat well. Just looking to save a half day's work and a lot of mumbling cutting out a frozen plug. If I need both PRV's can one be put in the outlet pipe of the oil unit? Thanks

ASME coded vessel require the correctly sized (pressure and volume) safety relief valve which are also coded for such use.. Sounds to me as if both units are in service.
