Well, I'm Hungarian and my last name ends with "zsa". Remember Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Paris Hilton of a generation ago. Only she had talent and married some of her lovers. :-)

Hungarian here also... Gotta love ethnic foods. Its amazing at times to me that you drive an hour away from where you live, and people have no idea what you are talking about when you say "pigs in a blanket" or even what a pierogi is for that matter...

Yep I know what you mean. We have them a few time a month. When my wife makes them she has to make extra to send to my brother. Ha, Ha, he should have married a Polish girl. ;)

I grew in up Georgia. Pigs in the blanket to me are the Little Smokie Sausages wrapped in Canned Biscuits and baked till the biscuits are done... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good.

But I like polish dish's. I just made Haluski two nights ago.

Potato pancakes, now you're talking. I love summer at the local bazaars. Man those old polish women sure know how to make pancakes.

While I was working on my house, a Polish woman used to bring me over goodies. What a great neighbor she was! What do you call the fried donut things with the cinnamon/prune paste inside? Or the sweet rolled bread stuff with the mashed poppy seeds filling?? Please, someone help!! They bottle vajunka (whoever you spell that) made by the Koltiska family here. I also have a neighbor that makes kolacz and jagwerst for Christmas. Will trade vajunka for recipes :)
