As I mentioned in a different thread....a 26 year Senator is smart enough to sponsor bills they know will not pass, release quiet press announcements & make public statements supporting all sides of any issue. Then, if they are running for office in the future, they'll have historical proof that they supported the popular side of any issue.....Means nothing!! (just an old "Washington Insider" trick....McCain knew in 2005 that he would be running for President in 2008, that's why he sponsored that bill.......just a CYA tactic)

(let's be honest with each other though....Neither major party really stands for much of anything any more. They both sold out years ago to their base.)

I agree, 100% And it is going over the heads of 95% of the people, they are too busy watching American Idol and other such important things. If we don't change in a hurry...

It's not surprising that, at the end of the day, we coal burning, gun owning, "I'll help myself" kinda guys will finally agree on the main thing: We are not going to just follow the rest of the sheep & get "fleeced" on cue!
(seriously, I think people who heat with coal look at the world a little differently than most others & are just a little more "street wise" (for lack of a better few words) than their neighbors. Not a bad way to be, imo!

I actually stopped watching Fox News during the invasion of Iraq when they broke into their coverage with the urgent bulletin that U.S. Troops had just found a huge stockpile of WMD......which of course turned out to be false. This happened TWICE while I was watching.
Now, the only time I'll skim through Fox News is when I want to see the Bush/McCain spin & talking points on an issue. Sorry, I'm not big on novels, fictional TV dramas, soap operas or Fox News. (I prefer non-fiction)

I have said it before and I will say it again buy gold and silver coins with spare money. A 1/10 oz gold coin is about 110.00 a 1 0z silver coin is about 17.00. We will be using 100.00 bills for toilet paper. silver and gold coins will buy coal and ammo. as well as milk eggs and bread. You forgot to mention beer.

Ah....But you have failed to factor in Al Capone's famous quote: "You can get allot more accomplished with a kind word & a 38cal pistol than you can with just a kind word alone."

If push comes to shove, I can acquire much more bread, milk, coal & beer with my 9mm Smith & Wesson than I can by lugging heavy gold bars around all day.
