heres a pic of my old citabria i sold 2 years ago. it was my savings account. bought a cessna 150 when i was 20, put 3 grand into it and sold it. made 10 grand, bought the citabrabat, put hardly anything into it and made 7 on her. now i regret it but not having really bills is nicer. plus i fly our skydiving bird for free and still have access to the old 150 when ever i need it, so that works out good. ill toss in a pic of that too at a 1300 foot strip i helped a guy cut out of the side of a mountain. that thing is fun, one way in one way out. what is it with coal mining and aviation!

I know the topic is for non coal related hobbies but since coal is pretty much all I do and since I love every second of it here is a picture of what I do for fun!

ya know how i know mike a is so good at loading coal........

he taps coal with his eyes closed, and he is like a snake...... he sticks his tongue out to taste for the slightest bit of msha in the air.

and, he uses his belly for a feeler gauge. when the coal hits it, the car is loaded

Man that is a sweet looking Citabria! I would have cried like a baby when i sold it! Do you do aerobatics?

I bought a Cessna 150 when i was in my early twenties too, made a deal with an aviation college that I would trade them the old 150 for an overhauled Continental O-200 engine that they had, and I needed, for the airplane I was building. It worked out to be a good deal for both of us. I built and flew a Q-200. The link shows the build process of someone elses Q-200. Whew! I forgot how much work that was!

yea i was pretty sad when i let her go. it was totally restored in 2000 and i made a new aluminum pannel for it and added aileron spades to help with the roll rate and force. so i guess that answers your acro question. i started to loop and roll the 150 so i said, maybe i should get a bird made for this i have a pretty decent video to upload of doing a few wingovers, loops and rolls. started to do cubans and reverse cubans then sold it. probably going to pick up an acro sport 2 in a few years. maybe build one, we'll see. good thing is the wife is really on board with it all. which i think is a lot of guys problems. the first time i took her up in the citabrabat, she didnt know anything about airplanes...... she said, can this thing go upside down..... i said, we're gonna get along just fine!

Those wingovers were sweeeeeeet! Man I forgot how much I liked that stuff! After I get the kids through college and then if I have any money left, gotta get back into it.
