house insurance

do you guys think there will be a problem getting a new policy , if i have the coal bunner? if i go with somebody new. they want to come out and take pics of the house. well my DV pipe sticks out about foot and a half. i'm sure somebody will notice. what do i tell them. what has been your guys experiance on this? thank you , Ken

If it's installed by a professional or inspected by a fire marshall their won't be a problem. I was just turned down this week because of it. I kept trying to tell the moron on the phone I don't have a stove it's a boiler, central heating system. He didn't have a clue and denied me on the basis of a stove. Once my install is complete I'll talk to the local volunteer fire department to see what I have to do to get it inspected.

my local fire dept can say it's installed ok and safe? or do i need the state fire marshall? thank you , Ken

I don't know. All I was told was a fire marshall needed to inspect it if it was an installation by anyone other than a professional. I've got a while before my install is complete. I was just shopping for lower rates for car/homeowner insurance.
