Quoting FOX Business News:

This is a draft of the economic-rescue package that is currently being discussed on Capitol Hill.

Please be advised that this is the Sunday draft of the legislation – and is in very preliminary form – so anything contained here will not necessarily make it into the final legislation.

Thanks for posting it chemung. I don't have the time or inclination to wade through it right now but suffice it to say that I am against any bailout bill passed by THIS Congress & signed by THIS President., period! (let's wait for the next administration & the next Congress who we should be able to trust more.)

The whole thing stinks like last weeks diapers! But, if something isn't done to relieve the credit crunch, the whole economy will grind to a halt. It should be structured like the Chrysler bailout where we got paid back and actually made money.

I wish I could trust what our leaders are telling us Terry but I just don't! I would go along with a short term solution to get us past this President & this Congress but then leave the long-term solution up to the next group. We are very close to that with the entire House of Reps up for election, The Presidency & a good portion of the Senate. Do just enough to get us by for a few months & let some hopefully trustworthy leaders make the big decisions.

This plan will give us some money back, but time will tell how much it will truly be after all the loop holes are figured out by the companies borrowing the money. The bottom line is this will not be enough to save us from where we are going but it hopefully will help us from going were we would have been without it. It's going to be at least a few years before we are truly able to stand on our feet again.
