Aquastat Questions

my boiler comes with what looks like a really complicated aquastat that controls the temp in the boiler only. the nice thing about this aquastat it has an overheat function that I am going to use to turn the circulator on to dump heat. so I will need another aquastat, one I can hook my thermostat up to to turn the circulator on. I would also prefer that the circulator only come on above XXX temp, so when I let the fire die out, the circulator shuts off. what aquastat should I use for my thermostat? and.....how do I wire the circuator, that will get power from one of two sources? I would think I need some type of relay or something to prevent current from backfeeding.

Not sure what you have there, but if you need advice we need some details, make model, etc.
On wiring two power sources to a circulator, generally it will be controlled by a relay from each source already so one will be open when the other is closed. It sounds like you have specific desires for the design, just do a search on the Honeywell instructions and select the unit that meets your needs.
Also what kind of boiler, most provide suggested control schemes, I think that merits a look.

its a Harman sf-160. the instructions are non-existant for wiring in a thermostat. the only wiring diagram I see on-line is the one for boiler control. twice in the instructions they tell you the aquastat included is for maintaning temp in the boiler, don't hook a thermostat up to it. you will need another aquastat. nice, huh?
