Hi,
I have my keystoker still apart and have almost completed the rewiring. I was looking at the coal feed mechanism that consists of a pusher plate driven by an offset nylon or Teflon lobe. It looks a bit worn and small to really move the plate much. Anyone know what diameter the lobe should be? I would rather fix it now if it needs to be replaced then find out later.

Thanks
R

Just call Keystoker and get a new one, save the old one.. they are inexpensive.. they sometimes get damaged by heat if the fire starts to back up into the hopper , along with the nylon guide screws on the sides of the pusher.

Call Keystoker, don't email.. they do answer the phone, but rarely emails.. understaffed and over worked.. call before 3:30pm.
Have your serial number of your stove ready, they may ask for it.

I think I paid $10 for a new cam (maybe it was $20)....I don't recall except it was pretty cheap. I measured it before I put it in, and made a little sketch. I think it is 1.375 diameter or 1.50, and 0.500 thick. The shaft hole is offset 1" from the edge or something like that and then there's the hole for the spring pin. Material is UHMW.

The nylon screws are 10-24 Fillister head from McMaster-Carr. I bought 3/4" long, but 1/2" is more than enough (at least for my stove). Cost was under $6 for 100 screws.

McMaster also carries the UHMW for the cam if you are so inclined to DIY your own.

I found out what happens to them when you have a hopper burn-back.....

when I was having problems with the gear motor jamming. I looked at the cam and it has the pin. the pin is flush with the cam and into the shaft some. theres no way to get the pin out , unless you try to drill a hole on the other side in line with it. then you could tap it out. Keystoker sells the gear box with the new cam on it. I fixed my gear box. they have 2 small thrust washers and a thin tube on the bottom side of the armature. well the washer on the bottom went and the tube got ground down and was jamming the motor. I took the top part , a real nice nylon washer with 4 thrust washers. I ground in down to fit in the bottom part , added the washers. works great. have to wonder why the gear box motor is built like that. should of been the nice wide nylon washer and thrusts both sides.
