Damper Placement

Hello All,
Setting up my LL Top Vent and was wondering about the best placement for the barometric damper. Should I come off the top with a "T" with damper installed or should I have more distance away from the stove? Going to be using an SWG powervent. I bought a Field Controls damper with the kit for putting into a length of pipe. The more I look at it the more I want to use a "T" for a tighter and cleaner connection. Thoughts? Thanks!

Do search this has been discussed numerous times, refer to http://www.fieldcontrols.com website instruction manual for the RC baro installation. it gives you examples of where and where NOT to put it.

It is NOT recommended to put the Baro in a TEE, it should be placed in a Straight section of pipe, refer to Field Controls Website for installation instructions and recommendations. You can still have the TEE for clean out purposes, but should be capped. Yes, it is a cleaner install, but even field controls does not recommend it.
