Hello Arlandis,

I'm sure you will be happy with your coal gun. I'm on my third season with a coal gun S-130. Love it. In addition to heating my house and domestic hot water it heats my 25' x 40' shop. I've never had a problem with insufficient heat. Most of the time the combustion blower is off. I've purchased a Honeywell outdoor temperature sensing boiler aquastat. Not yet installed. The idea is to adjust the boiler water temperature based on outdoor temperature. Colder outside = hotter boiler water. Claim is it reduces standby temperature losses. Good luck with your S-260.

I have owned an Eshland Coal Gun since 1981. Engineering is brilliant; heat extraction from coal (efficiency) incredible. alternateheatingsystems.inc is the new name My home is stone, 1810, 3,000 ft2 Saved me thousands. Not recommended for light heating as in Sept. Likes to run hot. Kept my place warm at -18 - record low. When the power fails I move the grate platform by hand and allow circulation by gravity. Best investment I ever made. Get your coal cheap at Tower City at the mine collery if you have access to a large pick up or truck. Only drawback is the wait - April due to demand. -Dave Morrison
