If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Yup, the roof section that is in the air goes on top of the new addition. Remove, load coal, replace. At the end of today it will all be weatherproof. And, yes, I will have a custom made stronger strap for the roof.

I would have hinged it or something, then you don't have to take it completely off....

This was a design as you build....the way they city next door wasted 8 million bucks on a new fire department... I had planned on hinging it, then went to two hinges, opening gull wing style. Over a 36 hour period the design changed 3 or 4 times. When the shingles are on it, it will weigh enough so that any hinge might be a trick to build. Even if it hinged I'd have to use the backhoe to open it and It only has to come off & on once each year. No biggie! I think it will hold around 6 ton when completed.

Anyone that comes to visit is welcome to a 5 gallon pail of pea! (One pail per season) :) :)
