Manual for Locke Warm Morning Model 400 ???

Does anyone out there have a manual for the Locke Warm Morning Model 400 Coal Stove? If so, I would be more than happy to pay the costs for copying and shipping to me. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Coal Berner. I tried all of the links. They all have parts for my baby (which I hope I will not need anytime soon), but none of them seem to have the manual.

Did you call or E mail any of them they might have them but don't list them or they might know where to get one

Off topic a bit but can these warm morning 400 stoves burn anthracite good bad or indifferent I think they are supposed to burn bitum. Correct?

I am very pleased to say that the warm morning coal stoves burn anthracite and bituminous very well. They were optimized for "bit", but they burn anthracite very, very well. That is all that I have, and my model 400 has been kicking out some serious heat for the past 2 months or so. If you have a chance to get one of these at a good price, GO FOR IT !!!

I have some info on most Warm Morning stoves.Mostly parts manuals and numbers. These were the best stoves of their day. The chimney construction in each corner was a patent by the founder. He was after the most effective way to heat his house due to his lack of funds. Very nice story but it is sad that they seem to have simply faded away.Locke made stoves for the Military and they were head and shoulders above the others in terms of heat for the troops.Martin ended up with the rights in the end and they did make a King-O-Heat that was very similar in design.

Thanks for the feedback. One of the members of this forum was kind enough to make a copy of the manual he had and email it to some of us. It was a real blessing to finally have some hard copy on my baby. This was my first year seriously burning coal, and the Warm Morning Model 400 was impressive beyond words! The four corner flue design is amazing, and that beastie really kicks out some heat. I now know from hands on experience that the design is unique and very special. I would be interested in getting copies of whatever documentation you have. I would be happy to pay for the cost of copying and shipping. Thanks!

Sorry, that's all I have on Warm Morning.

I have owned two of the radiant models, the smallest and the middle size.

To me they represent an example of what good engineering should be. Machined cast iron doors that don't require gaskets. The use of low priced sheet metal but well protected with heavy brick. A unique combustion system, and at least in prior years, when they were still in business, very low replacement parts cost.

They rode out all those years when oil was replacing coal; a shame they could not have come up with a design more suitable for a living room. It's the story of so many company's when their guiding light retires or dies off.

Hi Folks,
I'm new to the forum, but have burned coal for a few years now. I'm currently using a Crane stove, which is on the small side. I also have Warm Mornings Model 400A. It needs some parts, but I can't be sure exactly what and how it goes together. I have the round grate, but I see I'm missing the grate draw (forked part that attaches to the round grate). It is also missing the ash pan. Does anyone have a schematic/exploded view of the bottom end of this stove? I'd like to fix this beast up and get it running. I'd appreciate any help you may be able to offer.
