Don't move firewood

We have an invasive species problem.

Compounding this year's energy problems, NYS DEC and PA DEP have imposed bans on moving firewood more than 50 miles.

Well if we could just use safe and effective DDT then these problems would not exist..
I often thinks Greens exist in order to make existing problems worse or to create new ones..
That way greens can stay RELEVANT.

I have been been burning firewood for many years, and I just got a good source for Black Locust. This wood is God's answer to man made pressure treated wood. It does not rot, and is naturally bug resistant. When I split other types of wood, the little critters sometimes come crawling out like crazy, but never with Black Locust. Even if it has been sitting on the ground for years. Bugs may live directly under the bark, but they never (or very rarely) bore into the wood. It is truly amazing stuff. And it has a BTU rating very similar to coal!

this is a bunch of nonsense. the invasive species will invade no matter what we do, the difference being only a few years vs. a few months. best to get it overwith as quickly as possible so that the tree species can evolve to deal with the pests, elm trees have begun to do this with dutch elm, but it took a while, so the sooner we introduce the invasive species to the plants the better. i'll be sure to do my part by breaking this rediculas law and transporting as much firewood as possible over fifty miles

Funny, I see that after I just moved about 10,000 lbs of it across the state. Didn't even know about that rule.

Anyways, the trees I took my wood from were perfect healthy trees with no worms or bugs. So if the forest was fine I took it from, then so will be my backyard (where the wood is now)

I'm doing my part in getting rid of the invaders here in Wisconsin. Throw another log on the fire and watch em burn! More Snap, Crackle and Pop for the money! Just another way the Greens are getting there say. It has been around here for a couple of years now but noboby listens. Campsites would fold up if you can't haul in wood.

I don't mind burning up them thar critters either. They ain't got no business being in or on MY firewood !!!
