Alaska inquiry finding: Palin abused power

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain's Republican ticket.
nvestigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report by a bipartisan panel that investigated the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

Trooper Mike Wooten should have been fired for using his taser on a child but the commissioner would not fire him so that is why he got axed.
Isn't it great the way they don't tell the whole story.

Sorry Stephen....The case is still wide open & Palin may face criminal charges as well. As far as "Opinion" is concerned, this was the opinion of the duly appointed (by a bi-partisan vote) chief investigator for the Alaska legislature.

From a larger perspective....Was she the best choice for a running mate that John McCain could have chosen? What does this show about his judgment?

Unfortunately, these are the kind of things that happen when you try to clean up government. SP has enemies on both sides of the isle.

Sarah Palin would do very well in the Chicago political environment.

The firing of Monegan was not the abuse of power.

The abuse of power was the pressuring Monegan to fire Wooten for personal reasons.
