It will run on a mix of Rice and Buckwheat. But Pea coal is way to big to go through the stoker mechanism... I can't imagine anyone mixing rice and pea..

Can you post a photo of a sample of the coal?? Pea coal is a big as a golf ball, Buckwheat is supposed to be no bigger than 9/16" so about like a martini olive. Put a golfball or a nickel and a quarter in the photo for size comparrison.

I just called them again she said the bigest pieces are maybe 1" like end of her thumb? reading says 9/16" to 13/16" size = pea I would guess co closer than sales lady....so 50/50 mix rice and pea?

IMO pea and rice mixed run in a flat grate stoker is a hopper fire just waiting to happen. I wouldn't risk the loss of property and possibly life for a discount in coal price.

Rice and 30% buck, not pea.
