Chimney/Power Vent Temps

Hello All,
I put in my LL Top Vent yesterday and fired it up. Worked great and put out some crazy heat! My question is, What should I be looking at for a range on exhaust temps? With it cranking really good the temp before the SWG was 230 degrees and climbing. After it settled down the average was around 130-150 degrees. I have burned wood for years but the power venter is a different animal. The temps were taken with a magnetic surface thermometer after the barometric. Thank you for your input. Regards

As long as your baro and PV are set as suggested in the DVD I think your in the ballpark.

I have been watching my poconno bottom vent the stack temps when it is cranking on max are 110-120 and right now it has been on an idle all day and the temps appear about 90 makes me feel good to know the heat isn't all going up the pipe.

At idle my top vent pioneer gives me a stack temp of about 90 taken 2 feet above the stove just before the baro. When it has been cranking full tilt for several hours I get a stack temp of 250-270 and the front of my stove just above the door reaches temps of 660 or so with manometer reading -.04 to -.045.

I have a fairly short run of pipe so I expect the temps to get up there. From the stove to the power vent is about five feet total including the baro and one elbow. So the 230 temp I got isn't so bad. I remember getting my woodstove so hot that I could almost read a newspaper through the stovepipe!!!
