Ok fess up...
List the must have toys/tools you have for running your coal stoves. Any pictures?
Examples:
Dwyer Mark II Model 25 manometer from coleparmer.com
Panel mount remote probe thermometer from coleparmer.com
Anyone have remote thermometers set up throughout the house to try to equalize temps? What about temperature logging?
Thanks
Toys/Tools of the Coal Burner
This one is a stretch for a coal burner toy but I love it! http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servle ... 501161+923
Leave the lamp post wall switch on all the time & the lamp will:
Won't come on in daylight
Comes on at dusk....at 1/2 bright for decorative effect (for either 3 hrs/6/hrs or all night)
When someone approaches the post, the light goes to full bright (for a selectable time) then back to 1/2 bright.
Fun little toy!

I had this for in the garage but it works great for the stove too. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_03450466000P Chris

Tools?
Old paint roller handle and metal rod, straightened out and with a two-inch right angle bend on the end, for poking up through the grates. Also useful for leveling the ashes in the pan after shaking.
Garden trowel for arranging the top contour after loading coal. It used to have a soft plastic handle until it got too much radiation one day.
Heavy leather gloves from the welding supply shop.
Magnetic stovepipe and stove-side thermometers.
Rheostat for convection air fan.
Yeah, I know, primitive and boring.
I did start logging stove-side temp x hours after loading, along with air inlet setting and outside temperature and brand of coal. I will log more this Winter mainly to see if there are differences in coal, since I have half Blaschak and half Kimmel this year.
