LL Hyfire Blower 1 vs. 2

On my Hyfire I, can I only run ONE convection blower, will it wash the back of the stove enough? I have a custom heat jacket installed and added an extra blower to wash the sides of the stove and don't want to overload the CoalTrol trying to run 3 blowers. ??

I just looked at the picture in the other thread.
I think I would run the Third motor, feeding the new jacket, off a limit switch.
This would allow the 2 matching motors to ramp up and down as the thermostat called for heat, while the third motor worked depending on the amount of heat available in the jacket.

Dave, do you have a total amperage or wattage load from all the fans combined?? Maybe just one of the old reostatst to run the side blowers, and let the coaltrol control the main two fans??

Yes, I Thought of that too!! A thermoswitch or rehostat, I have the old reohstats, but it doens' slow down enough, it still runs at least 50% at the lowest setting.. I might need to get a new one.

I wanted it to run variable speed like the others controlled with the coaltrol.

At about 35% run speed on the coal trol with all 3 running, I am pulling about 2.48 amps, it's working okay, but didn't want to push the 2A limit too much on the coaltrol. At about 10-25%, they pull just at 2.08 amps. SO far it's working fine, I haven't really needed to push the fans much.

When coal-trol paul chimes in, he will be telling you that they like Matching motors.

Yes, I know, I read the docs....I unplugged the one on the stove (burner not being used) and just using the other too, seems pretty good, only 1.2 - 1.4 amps now.....maybe run with it this way for a little while. Just experimenting.

Dave, your rheostats have a fine tuner screw in the side of them. Open up the electrial box and you will be able to turn down the fans to anything desired in RPM.

Thanks, will check it.....!!Perfect. It worked! I tuned it down to about 65 Volts (10-20% speed) and it washes the sides and maintains good temps so far, will adjust as needed.....!!
I feel better, I won't blow up my coal trol.

I hooked the heat jacket blower up to my old rheostat to control the flow around the stove, that works great. I will put temp switch to stop it when not needed....
