Photos of my EFM 520 Boiler

Hey fellas
Here are a few photos of my EFM installation. Starting to get things wrapped up now. Still have a few loose ends to tie up yet. Boiler is installed in a 10x14 metal shed. Floor is insulated and will probably be insulating the rest of the building. My 150 year old house basement isnt very accessible or well equipped. The building was my best option. I am currently using a 55 gallon drum for a hopper and feeding it with buckets for now scince my familys coal sales is right behind my house. Later I might build a cart to fill with the loader bucket and just pull it in the shed and scoop from the cart to the hopper. Chimney is galvanized stove pipe and goes out the wall and about 12 feet high. It should probably be higher but it gives me good draft so I may let it that way. Still need to clamp the pex to the ceiling rails. Water travels into the basement were it ties into the oil boiler and domestic lines for hot water heater. Well lets see if I can get the pictures to work.

looks good! I wouldn't know where you all would have a J&J mud flap from there... not with all those trucks! heh.

I like the shed... all and all very good. I need to take some pictures of mine but my digital camera is dead right now...

Kindof nice to have the whole thing outside in its own building. Getting coal in and ashes out is a breeze instead of going up and down basement steps. I dont know if it was the perfect answer or not but I sure like it. Did the ditch digging and ground work myself.... built the shed pad and left it settle awile. Assembled the floor and set the boiler. Then built the shed around the furnace. A friend helped me wire the lights and I wired the furnace controls myself. A local furnace installer helped me with the plumbing.... Im really tickled with how it turned out.

If anyone knows anything about that Kurland Boiler let me know.... Seems to be the ghost that no one sees but me :shock:

Trucks??? What trucks? Oh like coal trucks! :lol:

Yeah theres a few mud flaps layin around from those old J&J Coal beds.... place has seen about 7 or 8 of those beds on different trucks through the years.
