My Brother fired his Harman Magnum Stoker yesterday about 3 o clock pm. Got the fire to light ok but the stove does not seem to put out enough heat. so far the stove has run over night and we were expecting better performance. The house is a standard bi level and he successfully heated it for 7 years with a wood stove. My question is, when they rate the stoves is it BTU's per hour, per day, per week. Sorry if it;s a dumb question.

The bed is 2 inches from the end of the grate and is fully involved in burning the room fan is running on high, combustion air is set stack is .04 every thing seems to be ok in the burn department

Might increase the feed a bit more, you can go up to 1" or so of ash at the end of the burn plate.

But get a thermometer (magnetic type or equal) and measure temps on the stove, I know my Hyfire will get 400-500 degrees on the front/sides when cranking.

Are the blowers and everything working corretly?

whats the top of your fire look like , as in the height? on mine the blue flames dance of the top of the stove in full burn. my buddy brought over some coal that was rice and all the same size. couldn't get any heat out of that crap. to tight and no air could get through. blue flame was never more then 4 or 5 inches.

UDATE!! ok we got that puppy going. Thanks for your help, turns out we needed to jack up the combustion air that required a faster feed rate. Now the thing is pushing heat.

The stove is hot the distribution air is hot and the house went from 68 deg to 75 deg and the thermostat was satisfied on the upper floors, and the stove went into maintenance burn. By the way the flame now reaches almost to the top of the stove.

Thanks for all your input.
