I have just got and started to use my channind III stoker and the coal burning on the grate is really close to the hopper. How do I adjust it to move the coal burning farther down the grate I am unable to find it anywhere

It will burn back a ways on the plate, there should be some type of screw adjustment for the feeder, but that only adjust how much it feeds.

Make sure you keep the hopper lid on and it doesn't go low on coal, then it will want to pull air thru the hopper and burn back.

On the new Alaska stove like our there is no adjustment for the length of stroke. How about a picture of where it is burning so we can compare to our stoves to se if there are any issues with either the grate not seated/sealed properly . Also what kind of venting sytem do you have? Direct vent, Power vent, or a chimney? Do you have a baro danper and if so was it set properly with a manometer?
