Hello, I need to reseal my glass in the door, the seal is brittle and cracking. It really would be soo much easier to do if the door lay flat on a workbench. The glass is made up of many vertical strips of glass. Has anyone ever removed the door? I have a Franco Normandy type. The door is held with a pin in each hinge top and bottom, can I just drive the pins out? and will they go back together. I also want to replace the door rope, and that would be easier with the door off too!

I would first spray them with some penetrating oil then gently tap the pins to see if they move, I'll emphasize gently because if your crack the hinge off you're going to be in trouble.. If they don't leave them be.
