My EFM has been running for a couple of weeks. This weekend I should have my last cast iron radiator repaired. I put valves in the zone plumbing so I can isolate that loop without dropping the system pressure. Do I need to shut the boiler off long enough to let the water cool to fill the radiator and purge the zone?

No.

In fact gasses can only be fully purged from the system by heating the water in the system.
