Just got confirmation that my replacement Power Venter motor is waiting at home for me on my front porch! Hopefully, I'll be firing it off tonight!

My dual burner Alaska 140 is being delivered tomorrow. I have 5 ton of coal stacked in the basement waiting. I should be burning by the end of the weekend. :D

Have been burning wood in my Harman Mk III for the last 6 days/nights. It's stoked up for the night now, but I plan to let it go out in the morning. It is supposed to be 60 deg tomorrow. I'm too warm already. It doesn't look like I'll need another fire for a few days at least. :D

Does anyone find it Ironic that Florida is a cold spot lately ?

Coldest’ Day in 51 Years Expected In Orlando; 2 Records Likely Broken. Excerpt: A cold front moving through Orlando is dropping temperatures to record lows for the end of October, likely breaking several 50-year “coldest day” marks. “If we don’t hit 67 degrees, it will be the coldest we’ve ever been on Oct. 28,” Local 6 meteorologist Eric Wilson said. “Sixty-seven degrees is the old, lowest maximum temperatures, meaning the coldest day 51 years ago.” The lowest temperature for Orlando on Oct. 28 was 67 degrees in 1957.

Had mine going for almost two weeks and then we got this indian summer so I let it go out. For a complete noob I thought I was doing pretty well on one match, especially considering that I work 12 hour shifts and there is no one to tend it while I work.

Fired up the Channing last night, hand full of cowboy charcoal, torch it for a minute or two, turn on the Coal trol, sprinkle a little coal on top and off we go.

The Coal trol held all my settings over the summer, have not touched it since.

Nice and warm in here now.

Usually burn wood through most of November and then traditionally over the Thanksgiving Day weekend light off the coal for the long haul. Of course outside temps can alter that schedule!
