It's not because they can cheer USA, it's because they do cheer USA.

Just an observation.

In 1989 I went to a KKK rally in Houston to see what kind of folks went to those types of things. They were yelling USA and lots of other things too. I am not comparing the GOP to the KKK, just that what they scream doesn't make them good Americans.

I guess you can't see the point Stephen. Let me try to make it as simple as possible. Just because a group does certain things, does not make them hold certain attributes beyond that location. Ever play football? Did you ever notice every team prays before the game? Do you think this makes the payers good Christians? No, and it doesn't make them bad Christians either. Heck the KKK had a freaking prayer at that rally, and I certainly don't consider them good Americans or good Christians. Maybe you do? I am sure you aren't stupid enough to believe that but, If you don't get it, I'm sorry for you. This isn't complicated stuff.

No he's not Stephen. He is pointing out how shallow these Neo-Cons are, including what's left of the once honarobale man that John McCain was. Chanting "USA" & wearing American Flag lapel pins is all that's left of the patriotism of these guys. Just a hypocritical "Front" to hide who they really are. Let me ask any McCain supporter a serious question here: Without resorting to fear or name calling or telling me what McCain WON'T do as President....What positive things WILL HE DO that are different at all from the failed policies of GW Bush?...Simple & fair question I think.

Wow, you guys are in a tizzy over a fact that in a presidential election, Americans chanting “USA “(usually when veterans are recognized) in, guess where, the United States of America. Awfully defensive aren’t we. & very telling.

Here is a national anthem you can embrace:

I agree, Mcaine is the only one who has actually fought for this country. At least I know where his allegiance lies. He would not be my first choice for pres but he's the much lesser of two evils. There are way too many unknowns about obama. It seems that every record is sealed or withheld. And whats with all the votes marked PRESENT? Its either a yes or no! Thats what you get when you are trying to walk a fine line.

So, you can only prove your allegiance to your country by fighting for it? May I ask where you fought for your country?

That's your test for showing support for a Presidential candidate?...The lesser of 2 evils? Does John McCain deserve your vote? (If not, do what I'm doing & write a name in of someone who does deserve your vote)

Devil505,
Actually, if it looks like an obama landslide and I know Mcaine has no chance, then I would vote for Bob Barr. I thought Ron Paul would have been a good choice also, especially now. I would like to see a third party because the two party system just aint cuttin it. If Obama was not such a mystery I would be more willing to consider him. So far he hasn't shared much info yet. What has he done (beside talk real pretty)that is so wonderful anyways?

Vote for the man who has earned your vote, not for who the pundits warn you that you must vote for...or else?! (I'm voting for Ron Paul because I have to look at myself in the mirror every day when shaving) As far as Obama being "such a mystery", that is a McCain/Bush talking point! The man has been around for years now & if there were any real skeletons in his closet, H. Clinton would have dug them up over a year ago!
I've got a bit of news for you...Your ONE vote will not decide this election so....It belongs to YOU....don't waste it on someone who hasn't earned it.

Yeah, I guess there no mystery. Any one that listen to that garbage for twenty years should NOT be president. It doesnt matter what he does. As long as he's NOT George Bush he's a ringer.Right?

The election here has become a race to vote for the least disgusting choice. Neither candidate is good choice. They recognize this, just listen to their messages. Neither one has given a clear message and while one has been extremely cloudy the other isn't much better. They're giving the US citizens exactly what they have asked for. We're told not to waste our vote and then given these jokers to choose from. Honestly, the men who fought for our original freedoms would have taken up arms by now if they were still alive. We don't have folks with that type of commitment around anymore.

Talk about having faith in light of staggering logic pointing the opposite direction.
