does anyone use a digital thermostat or know if there is 24 volts comming from thermostat terminals on stove control to run a digital thermostat? I am using the mercury one that came with my Harman Mag stoker and it seems there is a big variance gap in temp setting I just took notice know I just tapped thermostat soft now stove turned off is there any problems with these thermostats can I use a digital one ...if so what kind can or should I get...

I tied my magnum stoker into a digital thermostat. It's just needs a regular open then closed circuit. I did have to remove the jumper from the poles of my t-stat and that was it really was a piece of cake.

Yes the thermostat I have is one of those intelligent ones that learns how long it takes for the heat and it cylces the stove on and off to keep the temp even. I have electric baseboard heat so the thermostat I have is for my central AC. Now it's a Honeywell tstat, right now it gets power off the air handler, but it also has 2AA batteries that you can run it off of. Honestly the tstat setup was the easiest part of the stove setup. If I can help anymore let me know.

It would probably work, if you have the standard Honewell Dial Type, I think most are 24VAC.
Kinda pricey, you can get a standard LUX type at Value home centers for like $24 on sale with setbacks.

so the stove timer box asm on my Harman mag should supply 24 volts on one of the 2 terminals ....this then should power thermostat without batteries

I would say yes. Because if you disconnect the terminal leads on the timer box and jump the terminals on the box together the box runs like its trying to satisfy a tstat. Does this make sense.

No problem. Good luck. I have learned a lot reading this forum and have been lurking for a long time.
