With the past history of nooses and hanging people from trees and barns, the effigy of someone hanging by a noose is wrong. I think that goes beyond freedom of speech and "it's just Halloween". Sometimes, there are things that are just to horrible to parody.

Before this topic is locked for going off message.

Obama May have had an association with William Ayres but remember, Ayres was never convicted or been in prison and that association was at least twenty years ago.

McCain has an association with G.Gordon Liddy.

Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in “if necessary”; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a “gangland figure” to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap “leftist guerillas” at the 1972 Republican National Convention.

During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Liddy has donated $5,000 to McCain’s campaigns since 1998, including $1,000 in February 2008. In addition, McCain has appeared on Liddy’s radio show during the presidential campaign, including as recently as May. An online video labeled “John McCain On The G. Gordon Liddy Show 11/8/07″ includes a discussion between Liddy and McCain, whom Liddy described as an “old friend.” During the segment, McCain praised Liddy’s “adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great,” said he was “proud” of Liddy, and said that “it’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program.”

William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime. Saddam was a declared enemy of the USA and accused of "state sponsored of terrorism".

Do you still want to talk about associations?

As distasteful as they are, expressions like this should be tolerated not because we agree with them or like it, but because it proves our country and what it stands for, is bigger than any individual or group and can take this kind of battering. Do you think it is pleasant to see our flag stomped on and burned by Americans? It pains me to see this behavior, but it would pain me a great deal more for it to not be allowed because that would indicate a closed society. All political correctness is moving us closer to that type of society and I think it is a terrible trend no matter how repulsive the actual words are that we have to hear.

Yes I do.

You want to compare a B&E to an unrepentant domestic terrorist?

Unrepentant - Having or exhibiting no remorse.

Domestic - of or pertaining to one's own or a particular country

Terrorist - a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.

Terrorism - the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.

One is just as bad as the other. The funny thing is how both of them have profited from their sleazy past. Both are unrepentant scum bags so how can you defend one over the other?

I may have missed it but point me to anything where it states people were murdered in the Watergate break in.

Changing or influencing the outcome of the country is as bad as killing people, and don't bring up the stupid ACORN argument becuase that is no comparision. Look, both are scum, it is like trying to compare a child rapist with an adult rapist, both suck, but it doesn't really have a heck of a lotof bearing on their associations, now does it? That is the point in all of this.

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''
Mr. Ayers, who in 1970 was said to have summed up the Weatherman philosophy as: ''Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at,'' is today distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He writes that he participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, the Pentagon in 1972."

Your statement "So Ayers cherry-bomber a statue & said some bad words.....Tisk Tisk....No TV for a week!" doesn't sound like its coming from a former law enforcement official.

Obama was Muslim,, there is written proof.. He was registered in school as a Muslim.. he has just supressed it cleverly... like he has suppressed and hidden behind his 'color' and managed to dodge many questions that any other candidate would have had to answer..

God helps us if we become an Obamanation..

I'd like to see the written proof he is a muslim. If it is from Indonesia it means nothing. My wife is Chinese but grew up in Indonesia and if you want to get things done there, you sometimes have to go as far as changing your name to a muslim name, even if you aren't a muslim. Almost all the Chinese are Budhist, like my wife but most of her family have names that are not Chinese. Obama was a member of Wright's church correct? or was he just hanging around there because he was attracted to the anti-American Wright? Come on Greg, that is a tired story. We get it that you think he will be the end of this country, are you willing to lay odds on that? If so I will take the bet.
