Winter storm, no power

Winter storm, no power

PostBy: jpd989 On: Wed Oct 29, 2008 12:57 pm

We had a little storm yesterday. A nice heavy wet snow that left 11 inches on the ground. Broken power lines and no power for 8 hours. Glad i kept the Alaska Hand fed. It kept the house warm. I guess i will keep this stove, thought about selling it and making a couple of bucks. It gives me a good feeling to know I can keep my family warm if this happens again.

No hopper. This is an older model. Just says Kodiak on it and it throws some seriouc heat when opened up.

That is the main reason why I went with a hand fired, we live out in the country and a few years ago, we were without power due to ice on the power lines. Well, never again!

Good luck and enjoy the heat!
