Guilt by Association. Hang the Man!!

Don't forget the recently convicted and jailed guy who loaned obama the money to buy his home and purchased the lot next door to it for him, Tony Rezco.

The guy next door to me is on the sex offender list and I bought my property from him. I must be a really bad guy too. Granted, I don't have coffee with my neighbor, but I did associate with him when he carried my loan the first six months while I sold my other house.

Given the choice...and he had many opportunities to choose....do you think he (BHO) wants us talking about his past and/or present relationships that reflect poorly on his judgement? I'm not condemning the man but I still won't vote for him...not until I know more about him. It seems that he has been elevated to "Prophet" status...."The One". Every time his opponents challenge or question his politics or policies they are labeled racist. Yet the polls show that African Americans break for Obama 91% to -0- (the other 9% claim that they are undecided....oh really?) I don't think that's racist. I simply believe he has rallied them better than any politician ever has. Clearly there are those who will not vote for a black man or a woman or a Muslim or an Italian or a(nother) Catholic...etc etc. Silly as it is....it is very deep in our collective conciousness.

By the way....I'm still waiting for someone to describe or report one of his accomplishments or an act of courage. OK...I'll help you out....first black editor of the Harvard Law Review. Your turn.

I do know the difference and I know I have been making light. The point I am trying to make is associations don't really define a person. All of us have associations that could be called questionable. Since I have a business here in my town I have to deal with a lot of people I might not otherwise deal with. Some I find things about later on. The reason I now know the guy I bought my house from is on the sex offender is because one of my employees was looking at the list and started asking me if I knew certain people on the list. It is broken up by town so there aren't that many in each town. I was shocked at how many people I know on the list and some I know very, very well. I also was involved in drugs in the 70's and had some pretty sleazy cohorts back then, and if I am defined now by my associations, then I am pretty much screwed.

Obama is no messiah, and anyone that really thinks that is out to lunch. But you have to admire a guy who comes up from pretty much nothing and becomes a very bright, articulate and thoughtful person who is obviously talented. The fact that he is even in play politically is an accomplishment. How many kids in single parent families end up not only on the good side of the tracks, but passes well beyond anyone in his community? That is exceptional. I can ask the same question of McCain and Palin, what have they accomplished? I know what they have accomplished, but aside from McCain living through the war as a POW, what else has he accomplished that is that remarkable? He has been a good public servant, isn't that enough? He loves his country. For me, loving your country is what matters most. I don't have a problem with McCain having different views from mine, although many I share with him, many I do not share with Obama, but many I do. We are not bad Americans because we disagree on how and to whom we give the power to lead the country.

right on Kootch.....I'm a child of the 60's myself.....entered college @ 17 in '67 just in time for the Viet Nam protests and the peace marches on Washington. I was committed to both. It's the time in which my political inner beast was stirring......

Would a McCain supporter please explain to me why he (McCain) is so far down in the polls, considering Obama is such an obvious Socialist, Terrorist, Criminal, America Hater?
& why are Republicans (in general) forecast to be soundly defeated in Congress on 121/4?


( &, considering most McCain supporters here claim that Fox News consistently beats all the other networks in terms of viewership, it would defy logic to suggest that the answer to my question is that the American people are being lied too & swayed by a liberal media)

A fair point Terry & "The Bradley Effect" may come into play on the Presidential front but on the Congressional side, I don't think there is any doubt as to what's going to happen when heavyweights like Elizabeth Dole & Mitch McConnell are fighting for their political lives. Why is this happening?

One is a hero....the other a zero....some people can't tell the difference...but we all get one vote....as it should be. Just remember that the reality will be far different from the rhetoric and those who drank the coolaid (Democrat or Republican) and asked for a 2nd cup will be so disappointed when the country and the world look the same on Jan. 20, 2009....and 100 days later....and then 2 years after that.....regardless of who wins next week by the way.

My hope is you are wrong, but we will see.
