The problem is the same people who make the above argument will then explain that more voters watch Fox News for their information than all the other networks combined.......Which is it????

Well it's obvious that it isn't FOX news now is it?
According to all the pundits, FAUX NEWS is just a trival little Cable station, they've no standing do they?

Devil, are you seriously trying to say that the traditional press in the US is objective? Are you really making that argument? I am refering to all newspapers, news networks, news magazines, etc. i.e. the whole gamut.

Repeated polling has shown 80+ percent of journalists are democrats or further left by self description. No manner of professionalism can keep out political bias with that predisposition. And please, make better distinctions between commentators like Olbermann and Hannity to keep them separate from the journalists. We know the commentators are biased, that IS their job.

Devil, don't be ridiculous. You can make some good arguments but defending the traditional press as unbiased in today's scenario is laughable.

You are evidently not really reading what I'm typing here:

Devil505 wrote:In fact, I watch MSNBC, Fox, CNN & almost all the others, from time to time. I like to hear all sides as no one network is REALLY fair & balanced. Nothing wrong with media having a bias as long as the informed voter gets to see all sides.

The above statement was made in this thread....on the previous page!

Let me repeat it again: no one network is REALLY fair & balanced

So, Devil, do you think Obama made it this far in the campaign (both primary and general) based on his command of the issues and his experience? Do you really, really really?

Do you think that maybe it took a teensy weensy bit of help from a third party, like the traditional press, to overcome the massive Clinton political machine? Don't you think that maybe the press was just a leeeeetle teeeeeeny weeeeeeny enthralled with Obama's race and just a bit giddy about having a once-in-a-career shot at covering such an historic and triumphant event as the election of America's first black president?

If not, then it sure was an impressive feat taking four years of senatorial experience and all that oh-so-relevant community organizing experience and upsetting a well-heeled, well-funded, well-entrenched, unquestionably experienced political machine that would have gladly re-elected Bill Clinton himself this year, if it were possible.

Golly, what was I saying earlier about brainwashing? Hmmmm.... Forty years worth. Wow.

Let me repeat again and again: THEY CLAIMED TO BE.

They still claim to be fair and balanced in their news journalism. If they didn't, they couldn't claim it to be news. However, They are anything but fair, include FOX if it makes you feel better, but the majority of them for better part of my 48 years willfully promoted in their standard news journalism a biased perspective. AND THAT IS MORALLY WRONG. I would peg it at 75/25 and it is subtle, not direct. More often than not they skew by omission and half truth. This is to say it is more like propaganda than dissention. To their credit Fox is fairly direct in its bias, i.e. People know it going in.

"Comments made by sources, voters, reporters and anchors that aired on ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts over the past two months reflected positively on Obama in 65 percent of cases, compared to 31 percent of cases with regards to McCain, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs."

That is simply because McCain deserves more negative comments because his campaign took the low road & is the nastiest, least substantive on the issues campaign I have ever seen. Bottom line....McCain deserves to be chided by all the press. That's not bias.....That's reporting the facts.
(trying to convince us American voters that Obama sides with terrorists & is thus an ENEMY of the U.S.??!!...Come on!! )

Are you kidding me? He's is a freakin noodle! Even Palin is going off script cause she can't take it anymore. McCain even declared "rev" Wright off limits, what a patsy. Most felt he is way to easy

We never even heard of this guy 2 years ago, he wants the most powerful position on the globe, and what little history we do have on him, is off limits? When you don't know someone, you look at who they associate with to fill in the blanks on their history. This is his history. Give me a break. What else is there to talk about? His community organizing with groups like ACORN???

He did that only because he knew Obama would fire back with McCain's involvement with Rev. Hagee..who praised Hitler! ;)

McCain will deservedly lose BIG TIME on Tuesday, as will most Republicans in Congress.....Count On It!

Was Hagee his pastor for 20 years? No. Was he his pastor ever? No.Was he his mentor? No. Did he baptize his kids? No. Was he like an Uncle to him? No. Need I go on to explain the difference?

No...I'll explain it:

Obama never sought Wright's backing

McCain asked Hagee to endorse him. (You know.....Hagee...the Adolf Hitler admirer. ;) )

Thanks for the opportunity to remind everyone of the kind of backing McCain desired & requested. This is exactly why McCain is keeping his mouth shut about Rev. Wright!
